Summary of findings and the way forward

We conclude this volume by summarizing the main findings of the book’s six case studies. We thereby try to identify common themes, but also differences between the cases under investigation. We focus on a few main issues that the contributors to this volume have addressed such as geographic reach and degree of organization of the environmental crime(s) under investigation; the perpetrators and their motives; the victims and their suffering; as well as the efforts made to prevent and prosecute the offenses.
